چکیده

AMOS is a newly developed computer code that is finding application in the design of accelerator cavities. The program simulates the temporal evolution of electromagnetic fields in rotationally symmetric structures. An explicit Fourier series expansion is assumed in the azimuthal coordinate, which allows different multipole modes to be simulated independently. Nonuniform electrical properties (E, p, U ) are permitted, and both impedance and radiation boundary conditions are available. A geometric editor (DRAGON) allows for simple and rapid development /modification of models, and a direct CAD system-DRAGON data link is being used to facilitate the study of existing and developmental linac accelerator cells. A wakefield postprocessor (ANDY) allows the calculation of wake potentials, cavity impedances, etc., from AMOS simulation data. Code verification has consisted of comparisons with exact and approximate analytic results for simple geometries.

High Accuracy Analysis of Arbitrary Modes in Tapered Disk-loaded Structures

In this paper, a high-precision eigenmode-computation analysis of arbitrary azimuthal mode numbers in periodic disc-loaded structure based on variational method will be discussed. It allows for rounding the edge of a disk hole without any approximation in shape treatment and calculates the modes exactly synchronous to the beam. It converges much faster than the mesh-based computer code. Good ag...

Three-dimensional propagation effects near the mid-Atlantic Bight shelf break.

Significant three-dimensional ~3-D! environmental variability exists in the vicinity of the shelf break along the mid-Atlantic Bight. This study examines the influence of azimuthal coupling due to this variability on acoustic propagation in this region. Numerical studies employing a 3-D ray code, a hybrid ray-mode code, and a 3-D parabolic equation model are used to study the significance of az...

Advanced virtualization techniques for FAUmachine

This paper presents advanced virtualization techniques used to implement the virtual PC FAUmachine. We created a just-in-time compiler that can transform kernel mode code into code suitable for direct execution within a user mode simulator. This approach allows the efficient virtualization of standard PC hardware. To improve the performance of our simulator, we developed a small host kernel mod...

Mobile Object Location Discovery in Unpredictable Environments

Emerging mobile and ubiquitous computing environments present hard challenges to software engineering. The use of mobile code has been suggested as a natural fit for simplifying software development for these environments. Existing strategies for locating mobile code assume an underlying fixed, stable network. An alternative approach is required for mobile environments, where network size and r...

Soft Tissue Modeling Using ANFIS for Training Diagnosis of Breast Cancer in Haptic Simulator

Soft tissue modeling for the creation of a haptic simulator for training medical skills has been the focus of many attempts up to now. In soft tissue modeling the most important parameter considered is its being real-time, as well as its accuracy and sensitivity. In this paper, ANFIS approach is used to present a nonlinear model for soft tissue. The required data for training the neuro-fuzzy mo...
